Is there an original broker or investment company with it's origin in Jacksonville, FL.  I know Scott Trade is downtown and I have an account there, but they're not Jacksonville's own.

Hmmm - this is pretty close - try this: 

Charles E. Merrill is from North Florida (Green Cove Springs).  Merrill and his pal Edmund Lynch, created Merrill Lynch (1915)...............
