The JBJ's Ashley Gurbal Kritzer was kicked out of this morning's meeting but evidently the Mayor has a new funding plan for downtown.

QuoteMayor Alvin Brown, along with business and community leaders, will announce a new initiative to invigorate investment in Downtown and elevate the Jacksonville economy at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 29.
Standing outside the room, though, I’ve been able to glean some sense of what’s going on. Through the glass it sounds as if the mayor has secured $11 million to invest in Downtown development by refinancing bond debt.
Of the $11 million, $9 million will be invested Downtown and the other $2 million is slated for economic expansion throughout the city, according to a news release handed out to community leaders at the breakfast.

Nice!  Eagerly awaiting this announcement.

But, why was Ashley kicked out of the meeting?

so reporters aren't allowed in a meeting with a public official....that seems to be a problem
