I am so disgusted and appalled. Is it wrong for me to want to punch them all in the face? The Mother actually said she saw the child molester in her daughter's bed, saw him touch her, and did nothing because she was afraid he'd reveal to her husband that she was sleeping with him??? So she let's an abuser in her home, has sex with him, and turns the other cheek when he abuses her child because she's scared of being caught???

The real shocking part of the story is that the guy was fucking a 63 year-old grandma. Gross.

So he was dating the grandma, slept with the mother, and was molesting the poor daughter? What kind of crap is that? That child is going to need intense therapy to get over the trauma these idiots have put her through. Hopefully she will be taken in by a loving, stable, foster family. God willing

This is appalling!! I am utterly, and violently, disgusted. Not just that though, the grandmother is in her 60's dating the sex offender in his 40's/50's (at one point it says 41 and another says 51. The child's mother is in her 20's and her boyfriend/the child's stepfather is in his 40's!

I am always stunned people actually live like this!! Sad sad day. And you are right, I pray that child is able to pull through.

Read carefully, folks. There are two men under arrest, plus the family: Halveland, age 41, the grandmother's boyfriend, and Young, age 51, a registered sex offender who evidently lived with the family (and was having an affair with the mother). Halveland has plead guilty so far; Young and the family have been charged.

Oh my, not read carefully but read the entire article, glad justice will be served (hopefully) but I still feel for the child. I wonder how young she was when it started.

You know what? When I read this article and looked over the comments, I noticed someone said the mother and grandmother must have been abused themselves when they were children. The commenter basically said if they were also abused, then they turned the other cheek because they grew up thinking this was, unfortunately, the way life is.


So, could this be true? Do some victims of abuse come to accept it as part of life and could this make them not do anything about it when it happens to their own child?

I think that explanation is crap, but could this really be the case with some people?
