Still hurting from the Boston series, but man. Tip off hasn't even occurred and already this Finals matchup feels more epic than any Finals I can recall since Bulls/Suns in 1993. Lebron's body language in pre game warmups is night and day compared to last year. As a Celtics fan, do not like this at all, but as a basketball game, I really think we are about to see something incredibly special.

I thought the Heat would lose this first one in a blowout.  I'm surprised they came out strong but OKC has responded pretty well in the second half.

I confess that I really do not like the NBA... and after hearing the commisioner on the Jim Rome show today... he certainly did not help...

You gotta hear this... ;D

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

EPIC :D

Big fan of cranky, sarcastic David Stern.

Totally unprofessional, but I think he's earned it.

Can totally see why so many people dislike both Stern and the league though.

Mic check, mic check.....the fat lady is on the stage and getting ready to go vocal.  Parade on Biscayne Boulevard this weekend!

Miami is totally outplaying OKC.

They deserve it if they win it.

That said, I really hate the 2-3-2 Finals format.

Even with "homecourt advantage," it is REALLY hard to go on the road and play three straight.

thelakelander

^Yeah, I've never been a fan of the 2-3-2 format.  If you have homecourt and lose of one of the first two, you're screwed big time.

They changed it to 2-3-2 because the sports media complained about the constant travel between the east and west coasts.

Such a treacherous flight between OKC and Miami :D

I hate to admit it, but Lebron James has really won me over.

Guy is just playing out of his mind night in and night out.

I swear if I didn't love the Heat I'd fucking hate Wade. DO YOU THINK HE'LL RECOVER FROM THAT DEVASTATING INJURY?

Anyway, looking forward to them closing it out Thursday. And not looking forward to the resulting hangover Friday morning.

Wade's dealing with a lot of off-the-court stuff.  He just had his ex-wife arrested on attempted child abduction of his kids the other day.

However, his main injury is age.  You can't beat father time but he's good enough to be a great running mate for Lebron for a few more years.

Moneyball 2.0: How Missile Tracking Cameras Are Remaking The NBA

A new camera system is adding a whole new level of analytics to basketball. We talk to insiders using it.

The technology was originally developed to track missiles. Now, SportVU systems hang from the catwalks of 10 NBA arenas, tiny webcams that silently track each player as they shoot, pass, and run across the court, recording each and every move 25 times a second. SportVU can tell you not just Kevin Durant’s shooting average, but his shooting average after dribbling one vs. two times, or his shooting average with a defender three feet away vs. five feet away. SportVU can actually consider both factors at once, plus take into account who passed him the ball, how many minutes he’d been on the court, and how many miles he’d run that game already.

Nah I  just want the Heat to win so I can go to bed at a decent time. I wonder what Skip will say about James if the Heat win?

thelakelander

He'll say James needed Norris Cole, Shane Battier and Mario Chalmers to carry him to a championship.
