Wonderful article.  I wish our city council shared your concerns and visions.  They have chosen to cast out good planning for the sake of sprawl and drive through restaurants with their Mobility Fee Moratorium. 

I hope you have the ear of our local government and can convey how good planning will enhance our quality of life.  If they read your article they will have an excellent primer.

Great article and some startling info. Houston, being on the Mecca of international medical tourism yet raking in the bottom for healthiness for locals. Jacksonville probably doesn't fare much better in this regard. Many thanks to Dr Emerick and MJ for starting the discussion.

I wish I had some insight to help further it along. I'll be checking back, hoping to see more.

Wish America was better informed and demanded universal health care; i.e., medicaid for all citizens.  We are an embarrassment of riches in health care...for the rich; care and health of the remaining citizens ranks around 30th in the world, yet costs us the most of any.  Can we simply not see the problem?
