A tip of the hat to River City Gourmet Shoppe

I visited this store at the Landing on my trip to Jacksonville for the Monday night game.  The owners could not have been more hospitable and encouraged me to try their many gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegar, all very tasty.  On learning I was going to a tailgate before the Jaguars game, they gave me a bag of spices for free to add to some oil for a tailgate treat.

As they did not have any vinegar in stock on Monday other than the sample bottle, I bought some olive oil and then returned on Tuesday morning for vinegar.  While embarking on the Ad Lib downtown Jacksonville walking tour shortly afterward, I dropped one of the vinegar bottles, and of course it shattered.  On learning of my plight, they filled another bottle of vinegar for me and gave it to me at no charge.  Needless to say I didn't ask for that and never would have expected it.

This is exceptional, beyond the call of duty customer service if you ask me.  I also could not be more pleased with the oils and vinegar, and the many other items they have on sale (sauces, soups, pastas, etc.) all look well worthy of a try.  This business eminently deserves support for its kindness as well as its selection.
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!

I have to agree with you... Sherry is pretty awesome and they have some pretty cool wares for sale.  If you are on my Christmas list this year, chances are pretty high you are receiving something from this store.

They represent the incredible and glorious American spirit of the small business entrepreneurs. We need more "Mom & Pop" businesses than ever.

This is a great addition to downtown and I will be buying some presents from them as well. We need to support our local businesses.
