video ads?

I just got blasted out my speaker with a video pitch for Febreze on this site. Some of us are sometimes visiting this site in situations where we don't need audio coming out without any prompting.

OMG and you can mute it for a mintue but then it comes back on!!  I don't mind ads but video ads are obnoxious.

If you're on a Mac, I recommend click-to-flash.  It's a plug-in that won't allow flash-based content to play without your permission.

And, of course, AdBlock does wonders.

... but on my iPad I keep getting ads for zipcar. That's pretty funny.

Yep, adblock plus. I don't at all feel guilty about using an adblocker on a site, if they play audio in their ads. Flashing images are bad enough, audio is unacceptable.

I agree. We will disable the ads with audio. I think they just started showing up today.

The audio ads should be disabled. Post back here if you see one.

I have noticed them on a few other sites as well this week. This might be a new internet ad annoyance.
