I was at the game today and it was awesome. Probably one of the best games that I have been to since I moved to Jax.
Go Jags.
(I refuse to continue posting in "2010 Blackouts" after that win.)
I've been to maybe 8 games since I've lived here and that was definitely the loudest, most exciting game of them all.
The noise on that 4th and 10 at the end was deafening! What a big time win tonight. Way to go Jags.
If you are a Jag fan you should have been with us at Everbank field today.
I agree time to end the Black Out thread. Most exciting game I've ever been to,,wow I am hoarse. What a finish. That should make NFL rewind for sure.
Man I am so happy Im out of words. Note to Jaguars: Play like this every week!!!!! We have a great team, they just need to be consistent! This was a huge win! However, it was bad in the office for peyton manning. Man we shut them down.
Great Job Jags!!!
SCOBEE!!!SCOBEE!!!SCOBEE!!! That game should a lock for the NFL Network replay on Tueday/Wednesday. I totally agree with you aaapolito about that long in the tooth blackout thread. Go Jags!!!
There is so much excitement in the stadium this year. I thought the Denver was rocking...yesterday trumped that. What a great win. Go Jags!
Glad I recorded that game, still alot of work to do on both sides of the ball. That should help the teams confidence. Great game for the fans and to be seen on tv here. Go Jags!!!!
I love 4:00 games.
After the Denver and Philly games, you could not possibly have asked for better weather for football yesterday afternoon.
I had to stay home with the little one's yesterday but was very proud of the crowd via television. U know it's rocking when the commentators notice!
Such a great game and great atmosphere!!
Looking forward to going to the MNF game against the Titans!!
PS Scobee = Colt Killer!!
Gotta give it up to the defense for keeping us in the game. Garrard was back into his rythm and MJD was back to work! Oh, and reps to the O line for keeping the ponies away from Garrard the whole game.
The O line played great. Mathis and Freeney had no impact on the game.
I hate to sound negative, but Scobee's kick was almost blocked by an almost totally undefended Colts player on the right side, came right in there both times. The first try with the timeout call, then the actual gravy winner, that concerned me some.
Excellent way to finish. Oh, and ESPN gave the Jags plenty of love this morning.
I've been to a lot of games and this one was the best, hand down. Everbank Field was deafening!
I'm just praying that we don't get to over confident and cocky and end up flopping Sunday against a team who is 0-4. Talking about embarrassed!! But I have faith they will continue to do well. I noticed we play hard against division rivalry's, and underestimate everyone else. I believe that is the root of our inconsistency problem. We need to treat every team like they are the colts. This is going to be good season :)

Shut them down? Hardly, IMHO.
Wayne caught a career-record 15 receptions for 196. And Manning threw for 352 and 2 TD. Let's not pretend we have a lock-down D. They bent, but didn't break. And we were gifted 2
crucial turnovers.
Today is the last day to celebrate that win. Soak it in and move on to Buffalo. Let's see if we can shake our road demons.
Buffalo is going to be a tough road win. They are desparate and at home and we have a crappy road record... With proper planning it should be a solid win though.
And like others have said, the win against the Colts was nothing to get cocky about. Yes it was a big win but with one mistake it would have been a completely different outcome.
Here at the office there are plenty of people that are back on the ol Jags Bandwagon...... Next loss they wil lall be back off.

ESPN you say?? They finally did the right thing? Interesting, very interesting.
5 games left...Browns, Texans, Raiders, Titans & Redskins.
Good Win Yesterday! I was proud to be part of the crowd at "The Bank"!
Unfortunately, I don't think this win means we are going to the playoffs or even having a winning season, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.
The two Tuesday NFL Network replay games are BAL vs PIT, and DET vs GB. Wow!! The Ravens came back against a Roethlisberger-less Steelers (with 113 year old Charlie Batch at the helm) and the Pack beat the woeful Lions like they always do. If one of the two (yet to be announced) Wednesday NFL Network replay games aren't IND vs JAX, I'm thinking it's definitely an anti-Jax conspiracy in the NFL. With that being said, they will probably pick some stupid game like SF vs ATL over the Jags game; That is certainly a more attractive game. ::)
NFL Network cares about ratings almost as much as the other cable channels. Jax is too small and Colts fans don't want to see a loss over again. It's a business decision. They're making their customers happy.
I just checked the schedule. It is playing tomorrow:
"9:15 PM NFL REPLAY: IND vs. JAX Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (10/03/10) - As time expires in Jacksonville, Josh Scobee converts a 59-yard field goal to upset the Colts and hand Indianapolis its second loss of the season. The FG is both the longest in Scobee's career and in Jaguars history. "
And per the TU, I am happy to see that Del Rio let the Jags know that the win was incrediable, but they still have issues that need to be addressed and that there still were not at the top of their game. That type of optimisum is what the Jags need. That way they dont go to buffalo and flop on Sunday. It is too early to get TOO cocky.

I knew that someone was gonna say that. Believe me, I took all of the BS national media elitist crap in consideration. I'm glad that the NFL Network made the "right business decision" by showing the Indy/Jags game. I'm not naive to think that a JAX vs OAK game (for example) will make the top four games; This is the AFC champs in a very exciting game vs a division foe regardless if the Colts lost.
Yep youre right. I told a fan next to me this game will be on nfl rewind for sure. And as it should be. So glad we won. Late in the fourth it seemed like everyone in the entire stadium was standing.
I know we're all on a high from the win against the colts, but is anyone else kinda scared that the jags will lose to the bills?? i'm having a weird feeling that there will be a let down against buffalo. hopefully not, but we seem to lose against the teams we shouldn't
Just FYI, the GW kick was the #1 play on ESPN for week 4 of the NFL regular season.

That was just as entertaining and dramatic as the Jags game. Did you happen to catch the last 3 minutes? WOW!

Thats just it. Let just stop thinking and enjoying the wins and and regroup after losses. At the end of the day its just a game. Them winning or losing doesnt pay my bills. Its all just entertainment to me.

The pick that set up our last td was #7 - sooooo, the jags made ESPNs top 10 twice, how's that for positive pub? ;D

Well, it's the NFL so I'm always scared we might lose, even if we are playing a winless and rebuilding team. I don't think the Colts were necessarily feeling a "let down" when they played us, and we managed to beat them. If the Bills get things clicking for one game, they could beat anybody...and it doesn't mean we weren't prepared.
Just saying that it's not necessarily inconsistency that causes the Jags to struggle in some games and win some others...it's just the nature of the league. I think we'll win, but I wouldn't be shocked if we didnt.

I think I agree. The problem is when we lose, alot of people go crazy and disown the jags. Enough disowning, and they'll eventually be gone - which isn't good for jax. i'm OK w/ people calling for peoples heads when we lose (coach, qb, etc - that means they care) but i have a real problem with those who wish the jags would leave town after a loss.

So its not the quality that matters, but the brand.
Who exactly is The NFL customer? Im not challeging what you are saying, but its nice that someone else agree with how Jacksonville as a city is treated. Its really not about the Jaguars at all. Media likes the team, but really hates the city/metro it plays in. Glad others are noticing.

Thats the college town country mentality...being a real pro sports fan is different from college. Plus many fans dont see the big picture & how important PRO sports is to URBAN America. That 3hr game gave everyone in Jax a better Monday & Tuesday. America needs its sports, cities need their proteams. Overall Florida as a state is still learning how to be great Pro sport fans. From the Dolphins to The Magic to the Rays not much pro sports history and legacy like say Philly, DC & Boston. In time it will get there. Like that guy jim bailey said Duval has 10,000 children in kindergarden...When I was in Kindergarden there was no Jaguars, Bulls came when I was in 1st grade and didnt last. In time the switch up bandwagon fans wont matter, but in 2010 they do.
jaguars.com's Vic Ketchman asked a good question recently. Is there a pro sports franchise in FL that sells out as often as the Gators do? Of the the 6 NFL franchises in FL and CA aren't the 49ers the only one without ticket sales issues? Maybe it's a sunshine thing.
Nope there is nothing to do in Gainesville,,ha ha,,so the Gator game is the biggest show in town as matter of fact its the only show in town.
But at least half the crowd is from some other town.
You mean the visiting teams fans?
No, Gator fans from across FL.
Oh the bandwagon. All teams that win alot have those. Anyway back to topic,,, Go Jags!!!!! dont let us down next week!!!!
Im very excited this year!!! Even with our two blowouts, we really havent had much negative press this year. It feels good to have some positive press for a change. I tend to think that us fans are more negative than the media this season. We have became so sensitive. :-\

QuotePeyton proclaims ‘Teal Monday’
Be there, Boselli says
Wednesday, October 6, 2010 By Vic Ketchman, jaguars.com senior editor
The mayor and “Team Teal†are back again.
A little less than a year after they kicked off a ticket-sales drive in Jacksonville that is currently in the process of saving the franchise, Jacksonville Mayor John Peyton and his “Team Teal†partners stood in front of the media on Wednesday and encouraged Jaguars fans to fill EverBank Field for the Oct. 18, Monday Night Football game against the Tennessee Titans.
“I’m proclaiming ‘Teal Monday’ in Jacksonville,†Peyton said proudly, and with that he encouraged local employers to release their workers early on that day so they might all go to the game that night and cheer on the Jaguars.
“Continue the momentum,†Peyton said, referring to the ticket-sales momentum he initiated last fall and the momentum the Jaguars created on Sunday with a thrilling, 31-28 win over the visiting Indianapolis Colts.
“Our fan support really moves the needle on how we perform,†Peyton said. “I couldn’t be more pleased with ticket sales.â€
Jaguars Chief Financial Officer Bill Prescott outlined an evening that’ll begin at 5:30 in the “Teal Town†section of the EverBank Field south end zone. Prescott spoke of live entertainment, $2 draft beer and a video board that’ll display the “ESPN Countdown†pregame show.
Fans attending the game are asked to wear teal. “We want to teal-out the stadium,†Prescott said.
“We want the stadium full and we want the stadium loud,†he added.
“Team Teal†Commissioner and former Jaguars star Tony Boselli delivered another one of his ever-popular pep talks.
“We were challenged by the media; what kind of fans are we? The challenge is still out there. The national media is still negative. The only way we fight that is by showing up. We have to answer the call. We have to make sure those stands are full,†Boselli said. “Win or lose, this is our team.â€
Ive been thinking long and hard about the Jags recently. I think Ive figured out why they dont do good on the road...... Our fans dont travel well. They win at home so much because they have the support of their fans.
I have also been thinking about the Jags and the media. It is not the jags that are being critized..its the fans!! Bottom Line- we have to do better as fans. Win or lose, you have to support your team. PERIOD. We have to stop pointing the finger at them. NFL's team are not expected to win all the time. and Throughout NFL history teams have sturggled through losing season for decades and their fans stuck by them. Im sorry if youre not going to be a loyal jags fan, pack up your bags and leave us the hell alone. Go Jags!!!!!!
Wow the fans are the reason they don't do well on the road that's a new one. We can barley get the fans at home to go to the games. No way Jags get a large following playing the way they do. I can only imagine what the fans went through at the Seattle game last yr and there were Jag fans in the stands there. Put a competitive product on the field weekend and week out, win some playoff games, a few SB would certainly help, and you'll get your following. Until then the blame is on the Jaguar organization not the fans. We've done our part this yr. Time for the Jags to do theres.

Here is a quote from the bottom of the article:
"The economy has challenged pro sports team across the board. The San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars are among those failing to sell out games thus far this season."
I sent a nasty gram to the editor of the Phoenix Journal. I suggest you all do so as well. I just let them know they were completley wrong ad asked if they did any research whatsoever.

Yes weve done our part THIS YEAR. And Im sure that is not the only reason they dont do well on the road, but Im sure its part of it. For example, if you were going through something in your life, would it be fair for your family to abandoned you until you "got it together"? I think not so. That is like kicking someone when their down. They need loyal fans and support, not bandwagon fans who only follow the Jags when they are winning. Im not saying that Jags dont have work to do, because they do. But we have to take part of the blame. Personally, I was a "TV' jags fan up until this year. I just realized we have to support them, regardless.
Well we brought it home today. Now time to get prepared for the Titans.
Why is everyone so quiet? If the Jags had loss today the forums would be over flowing with negative comments. Today was a big win, regardless if it was just buffalo. There is alot positive press out there about todays game. Can we be positive also? This is weird to me. This game also put first in the AFC south. (for now)If we lose to the titans week I guess we will flood the forums again. ???

Its never gonna stop man. Its not THEY dont want The City of JACKSONVILLE apart of the NFL. Jax could have 70000 per game for 5 seasons strait and they still will figure a way to disrespect Jacksonville
History
93 when Jags were awarded THEY dissed Jacksonville
96 vs Buffalo THEY diss Jacksonville
96 vs Denver THEY REALLY dissed Jacksonville
2000-2002 Coughlin bad seasons they dissed Jacksonville
2002 Jax is award Superbowl 39.....They Dissed Jacksonville.
2006 Jacksonville renovated stadium by removing 10000 seats (I know its Tarps, but its still a change to the stadium set up) Jacksonville got nailed again!
2009 7 Blackouts, but how many were there in 2008?? Remember the great season of 2007 the year they got rid of Leftwich?? If 2007 was great 2008 didnt have many blackouts.
2009 LA wants a stadium...Who does everyone target to have their team ripped? Yep Jacksonville.
IF That kind of heat doesnt make you a more hardcore fan I dont know what to say. The MEDIA & football fans in general dont want Jax in the league.
MNF is the night for all middle fingers to be erect. They will never respect Jag fans, so in my opinion the Media gets no respect from me. From ESPN, SI & Sports Radio. Just know where we stand.
The Jaguars played a great game. I was getting a little worried in the beginning. Next up the Titans and MNF! can't wait.
So was I. I said he we go again. Cooly I think its time to give the respect card a break. You already have a large Black out thread you started. Now your are here posting more media stuff. Lets just enjoy our last two wins for now please. :)

As of Sunday there are 4,679 tickets needing to be sold for the Mon nite Titans game to avoid blackout.
