Oh we practically live there. I was just making the comment that I noticed the baristas were now all wearing "uniforms" (they're T-shirts, but still). Was that some kind of special occasion thing or is this the regular garb now??

Not that thats a horrible thing. Just wondering what made them move to that.

NEVER CS! We'll keep them here and give them the franchise to operate the LOUNGE SECTIONS of our larger historic streetcars!

if they went topless and wore speedos it might be worth the $2 semi decent cup of coffee.

Ock............I concur!! Somehow I don't think the "Guys" would be comfortable with speedos, but hay! Ya never know, they just might be! I am sure we could talk them into that concession!  flo............your getting the wrong coffee! If you get it for there, I think its a buck eighteen with the house ceramic cup..........its $2.13 for a to go medium!

I'm almost certain that all 4 of flo's post have been negative, sarcastic or demeaning in some sort of way.

REGARDLESS... I've walked in quite often (fully clothed) and enjoyed the company and treats they have to offer.

I think that is likely not a coincidence.

It just occured to me that people who "monitor" internet forums are kind of like the mall cops of the internet.Except mall cops get to wear uniforms with cool badges and make more money an stuff.

Oh god, we're being monitored again! :D (Old Jacksonville internet joke (old as in like a year ago)) YOU ARE BEING MONITORED!

I still have yet to go to Three Layers, but I've heard nothing but good things about the place. I tend to stay in my Riverside bubble, rarely venturing to Springfield unless I have to. Not for lack of want, more like necessity.

Anyways, good on em for even a basic uniform. It gives the place a bit of a better feel than seeing some dude behind the counter in "whatever he dug out of the clothes bin this morning".

Possibly. But I do understand they want to get some brand recognition & all. They seem like they're going for a more polished look overall, which I guess is cool. Like when they have open mic night, I noticed its mostly planned out acts instead of people from the crowd spontaneously walking up & doing their thing (a more truer open mic IMO).

I personally prefer a bit more grit though in my coffee houses, but I still like Three Layers & think its great. Def the best Jax has to offer too.

The uniforms, it's t-shirts...what's so polished about having the staff wear t-shirts with the cafe logo on it? It does help to know who is working and who isn't. I'm sorry, but I don't see the big deal, and happen to like the idea.
