Title: Street Vending Requirements
Post by: rjp2008 on August 12, 2010, 07:08:12 PM
WOW. Exhaustive to say the least. Perhaps they should loosen it up a little bit to encourage some independant commerce in certain downtown areas?

Now I see why RAM is so successful - they make it easy to set up shop unlike this draconian list of hurdles a street vendor must accomplish and adhere to.

If only they could make it easier without compromising basic safety for people want to buy/sell downtown.

Help me out a little with this one..... what's so draconian?

Permit  - Check
Liability Ins. - No big deal every legit business has to carry it
Don't block the sidewalks, the driver's line of sight at corners and don't string cords and hoses around - safety

Did you notice in the permit that the area allowed is HUGE and must extend far outside Duval County and even Florida?  One of the boundaries is the ST. JONES RIVER.

What is St. Jones the patron saint of?  Typos?
