Last night I stopped into Rogue and had a long chat with Scott the owner and Eric the bartender. They were putting some finishing touches on their signature drink list and gearing up for the grand opening tomorrow night. The bar is primarily a Whiskey and beer bar, but they have a fully stocked bar and can make any concoction your heart desires. As of last night, they had just over 40 Whiskeys in stock.
The staff is extremely friendly and greeted nearly every guest by name. The bar has a comfortable and intimate layout with high tops, tables, booths, and bar seating. By the end of the night, I had been introduced to nearly every patron in the place by either Scott or the other folks at the bar. The music is rock spanning 4 decades. Last night I recall hearing The Beatles, The Stones, Black Sabbath, Journey.... Maybe even Dr. John.
It should be an amazing night and a great indication of what to expect from the King Street District in the future. I'll try and get drink specials and other details by later tonight.
I spoke with a woman at Loft last week, and heard the same rumor at Elevated Avondale later that night that Rogue will be selling food until 3AM? Specifically hot food from Bella Sera. Did you hear Scott mention any of that last night?
^ I forgot to ask him last night, but I will have a definite answer tonight. I know that he and Liz have a good relationship, so it is for sure a possibility.
Okay so what time Saturday night is everyone gathering there?
I'll be getting there around 9:30-ish. I imagine it won't really pick up until 11. I've just got an early start on Sunday... Sad.
Me and the Miss might take a walk up there tomorrow night to check the place out. So if you see someone in a black medical boot half way up her leg, that is my fiance, and I am sure I will be close by.
Be careful walking too far around there at night. Last friday night a guy got jumped and stabbed walking home from Kickbacks.
Well that sucks, for the area and especially for him. I live a block from there and always walk to and from when I go to Kickbacks, including once earlier this week. That stuff really pisses me off, as a person and as a homeowner in the area.
Do you know where about this happened? Just curious which direction he was heading in.
Yeah I know what you mean. I live walking distance to 5points, but still wont do it at night.
Im really not sure what direction he was going or where it actually took place yet, and Im also still not sure if it was random or personal. Some people said it could have been personal, but I dont want to assume that.
When I lived on Herschel we would walk home at all hours of the night from Five Points and didn't think much of it (which was not smart). We have been more careful over where we are now on Post, but part of the reason I love being in Riverside is being able to walk to bars and other places, and I don't want idiot thugs taking that away from me.
Regardless of all this, I still plan to head out Saturday night and I hope the Rogue and Scott's other places continue to be successful and help continue the transformation in that area.
Tonight's the night!
The drink specials aren't set in stone yet, but the idea is a beer and a shot for $5. Doors open at 9. In answer to the food question, YES. The Rogue will at some point sell food. The menu is not yet finalized, but it will happen in the next few weeks.

Sweet. Will have to check it out sometime next week.
Sounds awesome. I am coming tonight with a group of 6-10 people depending on if everyone motivates. We will probably make our way around to some of the other drinking establishments also. I am loving this King St District.
