Former Jacksonville General Counsel Rick Mullaney needed just one quarter to surge to the top of the fundraising pack in the race to be the city’s mayor in 2011.

Mullaney raised $345,000 between April and June, blowing past Audrey Moran, the Sulzbacher Center president who’d been leading the money race since she began her campaign last fall.

Finance reports in the mayoral race are due Monday, but Mullaney released his numbers Thursday on his Facebook page. The list of donors won’t be available until he files his report with the Supervisor of Elections Office on Monday.

Moran raised $68,000 this quarter, bringing her total to $294,000.

These reports have been highly anticipated in political circles because it’s the first glimpse of the financial backers behind several recent entrants, including Mullaney. This will also be the first report for publisher Jim Bailey, former Clinton administration aide Alvin Brown and City Councilwoman Glorious Johnson.

Not entirely suprising if you noticed who all was at Mullaney's announcement.
Was a little suprised about Moran's numbers this quarter.
Interested to see Bailey's numbers.  He had a few meet and greets over the last few weeks.

I love Rick Mullaney, I used to work with him when he was a lead detective with Special Prosecution at the State Attorneys Office. Awesome man.

Maybe so, but, could he be an effective Mayor?

Until his is off the city's payroll, no thanks, I'll pass.

his official paychecks ended on June 30th....now he'll still get his retirement/pension, but that doesn't bother me

How much has the city had to pay out due to poorly written contracts coming out of Mullaney's office?  Shipyards, for example.

Mullaney has much more baggage for sure. Money won't be enough but my attorney buddies have been rallying the hell out of my friends for dough for him, as only lawyers can do....
