Is this the same place?
Quote• Joey Farah has closed his barbecue restaurant on San Marco Boulevard and moved the smoker to his Southern Grill site on the Southbank. “The road construction was too much,†he said. “Money was pouring out of my pockets and nothing was coming in.â€

Yep. Was never really impressed with it and there was never anyone in there. They did a semi-decent breakfast though I think.
I went a few times when I worked on the Southbank. Imo, it was comparable to a Sonny's or Woody's with a slightly higher price point.
I liked it. Only every did breakfast, but their omlettes were huge. And besides, where else can you get a pulled pork or smoked ham and turkey omlette.
Breakfast seemed to do pretty well the times I was there.
I went there a number of times. Pretty decent. I was in there on there last day and the owner said the staff and menu were moving to the Southern Grill, which I have not been to.

Yep, food was comparable to Sonny's, prices on par with Mojos.
Every time I drove by, I used to marvel at two things: "Damn, I respect you guys for trying to start a restaurant at that location," and, "Damn, this road construction sucks, the parking is terrible, and I'm too damn lazy to find my way into your storefront."
I have been to both "the Q" and "Southern Grill"
Both are really good.
I like the Q for their BBQ. I put it up there between Bono's and Mojo's (being best) and prices aren't bad. Ample parking in the back.
Southern Grill is a great lunch place. They have BBQ sometimes. Very friendly staff and good prices. Parking is a bit though, but worth it when looking for lunch near downtown.
