If you’re a true-blue NASCAR fan, this is for you. My friend, Kathleen (Bo) Bobak, is a movie director. Miss Bo is no slouch. She has worked as an assistant director on such Hollywood blockbusters as Minority Report, The Fugitive and Titanic.
She’s always looking at new projects, and last year, she produced and directed a film named Red Dirt Rising about the early days of stock car racing. This film, Red Dirt Rising, premiered at a North Carolina raceway last month, and will be showing in Jacksonville on Monday, June 28th, at the Five Points Theatre, 1028 Park Street in 5 Points, 6:30 p.m. Admission is $8.50.
“Jacksonville’s Kathleen “Bo†Bobak produced and directed Red Dirt Rising, a true American tale of love in the time of moonshine, when racing’s earliest heroes were born. The story follows the lives of three young men who come of age to find escape from life’s challenges on the track, ultimately shaping the future of their families and stock car racing during the Fightin’ Forties.â€
