Title: Landing Parking
Post by: RockStar on June 23, 2010, 10:46:34 PM
Briefly saw on Fox news local that the City Council overturned Peyton's veto and approved the money for the parking for the Landing. Anyone heard more? Great news, though!

Lets see..this all happened Tuesday afternoon and you say there was a brief mention on the local Fox station, I assume this morning, or possibly last night. Thats par for the course. Fox has always been a day behind everyone else.

I know a couple news reporters and they call them Fox "30 minutes late", because their reporter is usually showing up as the others are finishing.

Acme, lets wait until you hit 10 posts before you start using un-punctuated, exasperated, snappy remarks at other posters.  That's a privilege, not a right.

LOL, Get over yourself.  Seriously, it was the very first thread.

Wow. Since the other thread regarding parking at the Landing is in regards to using historic preservation funds (which is irrelevant now) and is 24 pages long and since nobody started a new thread regarding the development, I did. Since the only shitty local news (and they all suck) on @ 10pm is Fox, that's where I first heard. It wasn't on Jacksonville.com yet @ the time, because after I heard it I checked for more info.

I don't know how I was surprised because nothing surprises me on this forum. LoL

Re: acme54321, if his/her comment was sarcasm, it lacked intelligence and wit which makes sarcasm so fun and effective; without it, it's simply smart ass (as in, you think you're one, but you're really the other). Either way, wtf does "look up 1" mean? Wait, hold up now, that's rhetorical. You see, I don't care.

So, anyone heard that the Landing got its parking money approved? Great news, huh?

It is really exciting news.  Now it's up to the businessman to make good on his promise, which I much prefer to begging Johnny not to veto.  Johnny played his hand exactly how everyone knew he would, but he was overridden anyway.

I am definitely in Toney's corner. I hope he serves Peyton a huge piece of Humble Pie and washes it down with a glass of 'I told you so'.  If he fails, at least we'll know one thing that wasn't holding the Landing back!

City Council honored an agreement made with the original developers of the Jacksonville Landing 25 years ago over the objections of the mayor. This should make you careful about trusting the mayor doesn't it?

as has been stated many times, the agreement had been modified several times....the City was not in violation of the current agreement and the Mayor's positio was actually consistent w/ the agreement.
