I have not seen this in the news anywhere but does everyone know that the city is no longer picking up household garbage on wednesdays as a cost cutting measure. Wednesday pickups, like for me in Riverside have been moved to Tuesdays. And other Wednesday pickups have been moved to Thursday. No Wednesday activity at all. Got this from a very reliable source. Like I said no mention on any news media that I am aware of.
We normally/used to have our garbage picked up on Wednesday mornings too - thanks for the tip!
We received a flyer on our door... trash pickup is now on Tuesdays and recycling now is on Friday along with yard waste.
If they can make it work w/o any serioues interuptions, do it.

At least we've scaled down the number of days. Previously, I had to take recycling out on Sunday night, bring it in Monday night, bring out Garbage Tuesday night, bring the cans in Wednesday night, bring out the yard waste can Thursday night, and bring it in Friday night. A little much in my opinion.

wth? Mine are both the same day, Thursday and Friday is for lawn debris my part of Mandarin.
I forgot to add the lawn pickup on Friday... so 3 different days for 3 different things over in Wesconnett.
I don't know why, just been that way since I moved here.
It's kind of a pain, actually.
I wonder if it has anything to do with distance to the landfill and number of trucks available.
I think it has more to do with finding ways for the city to cut its budget.
We have Wednesday pick up , and have received no notice of change of service. Its totally ok with me , if they change days, but I did not know this until I read it here.
If the City really wants to cut some budget money, they can get rid of some fat salaries and dead wood.
I'm still getting Wednesday Blue Box service, and have got no notice of change.
I guess there is another advantage to East Springfield -- all pickups on the same day. :)
