Title: Bill Sulzbacher, philanthropist, has passed away

Reports have come in that Bill Sulzbacher has died as the result of a massive heart attack.

Yes, i have heard the same thing. Bill was a tremendous man and really understood the transprotation land use connection, he was involved with ULI and I know he tried to work closely with JTA on several things, including getting the Avenus Walk development citied as a possible commuter rail station. Bill will be sorely missed!

I confirmed the news with the Sulzbacher Center this morning (just one of the boards he served upon) and had just met him for coffee last week.  As always he focused on what was positive about Jacksonville and how to make it even better. He will be greatly missed in the community.

Very sad.  I knew Bill as an acquaintance mostly but he came across as a stand up nice guy.  My condolences to his family.

Bill's funeral was a great tribute to his life. Standing room only. God Bless you Bill!
