Title: What kind of forum poster are you?
Post by: DeadGirlsDontDance on June 05, 2010, 02:17:52 AM
If you dare to see yourself in an unflattering light, check out Flame Warriors  (http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/index.htm) by Mike Reed, wherein he enumerates and lampoons a few dozen different kinds of jerks and yahoos, and a few cool people you can usually find on any internet forum.

You will, of course, try with all your might to identify with the good ones; but if you're honest, you'll realize you're just an annoying butt-monkey of some sort.

For example, I try to be a Kung-Fu Master (http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/kungfumaster.htm), but often end up being an Evil Clown (http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/evilclown.htm). I blame my Evil Clown tendencies on having been instantly attacked by a Xenophobe  (http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warriorshtm/xenophobe.htm)when I first started actively posting here (because nothing can possibly EVER be MY fault).

This is not a quiz, it's just something to read and chuckle over. Enjoy!

Now THAT is funny.  I am afraid that I am, most of the time, an annoying butt-monkey.  ;)

I see parts of my e-persona in a few of those characters.Capitalista, ideologue, farrus cranum, and a few others.

In fact, almost each character in the linked page could be a part of my personality. Does that make me schitzo?

I find I'm a Big Cat, Coffee-Klatching, Jekyll & Hyde poster.
Wow, does that make me sound more interesting than I really am!

I would be a mix of Kung Fu Master, Nanny, Archivist, Admin (other forums), Capitalista, Philosopher, Idealogue, Rebel Leader, Fanboy (I dual boot Windows and Linux) and maybe some minor elements of several others.

I got as far as Big cat.  I'd say that's me.  I had a Big Dog streak but I've toned it down a touch.

I'm too impatient/ADD/lazy to read any further down the list.

I got one they could add. The Strategizer (or maybe General)

The Stragetizer carefully forms his arguments and counterpoints to the extent that each of his comments can take him upwards of an hour to complete before he dares to click post. Each sentence must be meticulously analyzed to ensure maximum battle effectiveness. Sometimes entire paragraphs will have to be completely reworded. Also if the forum he’s in offers an editing feature, it will almost always be used extensively.
