My boyfriend gets off work late, and I can never find a nice restaurant that doesn't close at 11. Does anybody know of one?
What part of town?
preferably the Beach, Riverside or San Marco....but any suggestions will help!
Thanks
Riverside has Kickbacks, Casbah may serve food late too.
The beaches: 3rd street diner in South Jax Beach, Sun Dog in Atlantic/Neptune beach. I'm sure there's tons more out that way but it's been awhile since i've "crossed the ditch"
thanks alot!
La Cena will take very late reservations. I've served folks way after midnight on many occasions.
The Menu:

At the beach, Sun Dog is open until 2am but I am not sure when they stop serving food.
mmm, Kickbacks and their nachos
Applebees.
^ the asked for a nice place to eat, not a chain. Sorry Sport.

open till 2, and the one in SJTC is awsome
Jacksonville's many fast food establishments often stay open 24 hours :)
On a more serious note, I've had the same problem! I live on the Southside and it's hard to find a non-chain/fast food place open for a late bite. It's not as much of a problem on Friday & Saturday nights, but any other day of the week is difficult. Mellow Mushroom is open until 1 or 2 serving slices. Kickbacks is a good option as well. I don't know of much else outside of that unfortunately...
try my neigbor in 5 points, 5 Points coffee and spice. Alva serves wings, dinner specials, and the best subs in town til 3am every night!
Some good suggestions in this thread. I'll keep the 5 Points place in mind because I usually keep nightshift hours even when I'm off work and it's usually around 130 or 2 when I want lunch.

Riverside has Kickbacks
Thank god for health, happiness, and Kickbacks. Open from 7AM to 3AM, and delivers the entire time. Unreal in Jacksonville
Kickbacks has the best wings in town. They better hope I dont open up a Taco Mac though.
Taco Mac is pretty good, have one within walking distance of me in Atlanta, but I don't think Jax is quite ready for one ;)
Also, what IS up with the lack of almost anything open past midnight around Jax? There arent even very many cars on the road past 8...I know it's smaller than Atlanta by a lot, but it seems everywhere in Atlanta all the fast food places are 24/7, the bars/clubs let out at 3 and are open 5-6 days a week as opposed to 2-3, and restaurants stay open until 1 or 2 for the most part. Even in most of the burbs. The worst traffic I ever encountered was on the 400 at midnight (from 11-2 I went just a few miles, granted there was an accident, but there were A LOT of cars on the road).
Jax can surely support just a tad bit more of a late night game, right?
Orsay serves until 1 most nights, i think.
Taco Mac in Decatur is my home away from home
I was at Famous Amos recently and was told even they have cut back on being 24 hours. I guess my 2 AM chuckwagon steak is a thing of the past.
3rd Street Diner is usually where I end up if it's late and I want some fairly decent food.

WHAT??????
Famous Amos is a STAPLE of my late night diet. Where else can you get rice and black eye peas after a night of libations???
That really freaking sucks.
Kickback's rocks, unless you live at the beaches then it's 3rd Street diner. The sad part is that before we had Kickback's, there was many a night that I drove to 3rd Street because it was all that was open.
i don't know how good it is, but Broadway Pizza on Baymeadows Road is open late.
If you go to Kickbacks...avoid the meatloaf. I think it's the worst thing I've eaten in a long time, maybe ever. Memorably bad. I haven't been back because of it. Stick with the recommedations here. They must have some good things because I've heard well of it.
I know it's not anything fancy but...isn't Waffle House still open 24/7? Whataburger is open really late too if not all night.
I don't know how late they stay open but Shiraz on Southside Blvd has the absolute best pizza I've ever tasted in my life.
Orsay has the late night menu, I think after 10, only open until midnight. Kickback's also delivers....
Orsay serves our full menu until 10PM during the week, and until 11PM on Friday & Saturday. Somewhat limited late night menu is available an hour later every night that we're open, so until 11PM during the week and until midnight on Friday & Saturday.
That being said, if you're really looking for late night eats and you're near Riverside, the Kickbacks plugs are well deserved. If I'm eating after midnight, it's most likely Kickbacks (or the Normandy Boulevard Taco Bell). Kickbacks is a great asset to the neighborhood - I love driving by the place on those days when I head to Orsay early and seeing the overnight hospital workers in scrubs sitting out front (who, in rare occurrences, may have stitched up one of my cooks) enjoying a well deserved beer before they head home for a good day's sleep :-)
Yeah, and they deliver. I live a block away, but I've availed myself of the delivery service on a number of occasions.
Anybody that doesn't live in Riverside have a neighborhood place to plug that serves booze until 2, serves food until 3, and delivers?! One of the many reasons I love my neighborgood - that was a typo, but I'm going to leave it as is because I think it sounds cool :-) Maybe a new slogan - "Riverside - the Neighborgood"...
