Post by: copperfiend on August 22, 2007, 05:01:51 PM
QuoteJACKSONVILLE, FL -- Cecil Commerce Center is complimenting aviation and aerospace with manufacturing and distribution as tire giant Bridgestone Firestone Tires moves in.

Bridgestone is building a one million square foot distribution center that will handle more than one million tires.

The 44 million dollar complex will provide jobs from 250 people.

Nelson Miller heads up logistics for Bridgestone. "We are going to be receiving tires from Latin America, from Asia and production in the United States," says Miller.

The company says the facility will be open for business next spring, but completely built by next summer.

The Cecil Commerce Center location for Bridgestone will be a hub for ground activity as the company expects 250 trucks a day to use nearby Interstate 10.
