So I've been using the snap fitness in riverside. i like that they are 24/7, but it would be nice if there was something closer. does anyone know of a gym in springfield? it seems like there should be one.
I don't know if there is one in Springfield but I'd like to use your post to highlight an idea for an exercise container that could be used on the 680' Public Pier thats next to the Plaza at Berkman. The container can be used on a rotating basis with the YMCA, or Golds, or even maybe the snap fitness in Riverside. Haven't heard of Snap Fitness but just like that they could get exposure.
The point is that it would create activity. Small in scale. Various gyms in the urban core can each get exposure to their fitness facilities. Zumba class at 10. Have some loose weights. Whatever.
there's no gym here that I'm aware of

None in Springfield, but there is a gym at the Landing above Chicago Pizza.

And a Y in the BOA tower
The Y in the Bank of America Tower is in the basement, and they open early...5:30 I think.
isn't running for your life all the exercise you need in that neighborhood? :)
congratulations, jaxnative68. i now want to slap you so hard your parents' cheeks sting.
I do not understand why people would go to a gym. I do understand if there is need, there will be business. If someone wants to start a gym in Historic Springfield, I will happy to support it by showing up at least once a year. For the rest of the time, I am busy growing potatoes on my couch.
Fatcat,,hmmmm

AH this made me laught
LOL on the past comments. Closest gym to SPR is BOFA Tower YMCA, almost $50 a month, River Fit at The Landing, I think $20 a month, then YMCA Riverside, $50 plus and SNAP in Riverside, around $50. River Fit at The Landing is the best deal around IMO.......
I use "Fitness for you" which is at the corner of Bay Meadows and Phillips! $10 Bucks a month with no contract but there is an annual fee of $28.50! Best place for the money and I use it 6 days a wk! I believe they have 6 centers in Jacksonville and when I go tomorrow will get the address's of the other facility's!
