Just spent some time on the "birds eye view" of Southbank. I studied and restudied the photos of the original Acosta Bridge over and over... Something jumps out. The streetcar lines, at least in my photo didn't have a physical connection! So that being said, what is missing? There had to be a utility, car barn or car storage shed in South Jacksonville. Near the FEC? Old City lot? Maybe a building that's been re-used in some way?
Prudential to Hendricks to Atlantic (San Marco to FEC on Atlantic) also South along San Jose? There is a big old building with big doors at Thacker and Atlantic, then a long odd shape building along the West Side of the FEC at Atlantic? Maybe a few others, then again, maybe it's also long gone... Anyone know or care to look? Have any ideas? Where are the City of South Jacksonville records?

i don't know, but i think it would be hilarious if the building with "666" repeated all over it were still around. especially in this city.
Still need some eye's for any possible trolley barn (at least something that JTA didn't knock down for the Skyway... Uh, I mean the "New Acosta Bridge").
As for 666, it's still sold and is a popular cold medicine in some circles. Check it out at:

I saw some in a CVS or Walgreens just the other day!

The only historic structures I can think of lining the tracks in San Marco, are a few old brick warehouse structures and the city hall building that were once a part of the City of South Jacksonville's facilities. One of those buildings looks like it could have been a trolley barn, fire station or something that housed some sort of vehicle years ago. That particular rectangular building sits on the SW corner of the railroad's crossing with Hendricks Avenue. The other brick warehouse across the street is still labled "City of South Jacksonville Utilities Building".
Oooooh GOOD! THANKS MAN! Utilities might even mean ELECTRIC as in Traction which means there may be signs of tracks in the floor. Wouldn't it be a smack at JTA if we found the old South Jax Cars sitting out there somewhere...! What a hoot! Got to love this stuff, it's certainly worth a look-see.
