How times change.  I just came across this image while looking for historic images of another Jacksonville neighborhood.

Life before 52' semi trailers and Fed-Ex.
Could anyone picture Jax-Port Volumes unloading down town??
We truly outgrew the shipyards, and they would have been Hell to keep clean in this day and age. the river is so small there, and we still have the Power plant debris(Dioxin?/Asphalt?) that is permenantly embeded into the rocks on the south bank to deal with.
