Jacksonville-based Gate Concrete Products Co., located at 402 Zoo Parkway, plans to lay off 115 between May 15 and 29, according to a state Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notice posted today.

not good news
i did not realize they had that may employees at that location. that plant makes raw structural precast concrete products, mainly double tees, beams and columns for parking garages and industrial uses. Unfortunately all of the architectual precast concrete is made in Orlando and Alabama, so the courthouse project doesn't help the local plant.
