correct...they have been in the 1661 building for a few months now
Im sure a sushi restaurant will go in where subway was. ;)
The subway in 1661 serves Breakfast too!! It's awesome.
Five Points Cleaners, which was two suites over from Subway, also has closed recently. There are really quite a few vacant suites in the Five Points area right now.
I want a Vietnamese food restaurant to go where the Subway was located.
Pho sho
If anyone knows anyone who wants to open a restaurant - the space is pretty much ready to go. Subway left almost everything - the food prep area, two walk-in coolers, greasetrap, etc.
It could use a range and a hood (obviously Subway didn't need that) and someone to change out the floor tile.
The rate seems reasonable as well...

That would solve the stray cat problem.

I agree, either a pho place or an Indian restaurant. I think an Indian place would do quite well, IMHO. Once the Thai place opens at the old Preservation Taphouse the 'hood will have just about everything I could want and I won't have to leave my bubble and risk the wilds of the 'burbs!
I am SO looking forward to the new Thai spot. So close to my house. If they do a great green curry, I will walk there on my hands if need be.
Re. the Subway spot, how about Ethiopian?? I miss that from my days in D.C. Spicy, diverse, and totally eaten with your fingers.

Just make sure you go with people who wash their hands...
Let me just tell you, that I would kill for an Indian restaurant in the area that delivered. Someone make this happen!
Isn't the "Tea House" (Cozy Tea) sort of a pseudo Indian place? I seem to remember them having certain dinner nights with an Indian theme/menu.....
Ahhh... a spicy, golden curry chicken with veggies and rice, naan bread, papadum and mango chutney...... does a place like this that could make that exist now in Riverside? If not it would be a welcome addition!!! ;D
The Cozy Tea House is truly unique - British High Tea by way of India.
They do a "family-style" Indian dinner once a month - it's booked up 2 or 3 months in advance. It's a pretty neat thing. All you can eat, not greasy at all, vegetarian friendly, and pretty reasonable.
I would dominate a pho place in 5 points.
I have indeed conquered the Pho Challenge :)
