As for updates on Kuhn's projects:

Riverwatch - On hold, until Kuhn breaks ground on the 10 story garage, now scheduled for Oct. 1.

One 12 - Waiting for approval from the city to install windows.  When complete, it will be a 130 unit boutique hotel or 105 unit residential building.  According to the article, the market will determine that use.

Laura Trio - Waiting for approval from city to install windows in all three buildings.  Also still plans to build a parking garage for One12 at the corner of Laura and Adams.

I sure hope that a garage isn't the only thing we'll see at the Riverwatch site.

Just goes to show you have to take advantage of the opportunity when it presents it's self.  Riverwatch, The Landing, Florida Coastal School of Law, FSU Medical School, and the Farmer's market relocation are all examples of us not opening the door when Mr. Opportunity came knocking.  Now either alternative sites have been pounced on by these entities or the market has changed.

So if the market won't support such a project at this time, then expect the garage to be the only thing on the site for a while.  However, as long as it has street retail, as originally planned and is designed to accomodate vertical expansion in the future, it still beats what's currently there now or waiting a few years for pre sales.

Why does it take so long to approve windows? It sure seems like we talk about wanting to revitalize downtown, but when It comes to  getting some of this stuff on the fast track, we drag our feet.

Haven't the windows in the old Barnett building been replaced?  I'm confused.  Are these for the ground level or something?

Getting approval after the work has already been completed seems to be the most effective way...

Good point Lunican.  It seems the Kuhn will just have to build everything first and then try to cut his way out of the red tape.
