How about the newly refurbished and reconfigured, tax dollar paid for, Main Street!

That is a good one, CS. BTW...it's tax dollars that pay for ALL the streets, not just Main Street. :-)

I will add the Community Garden - it is full of gardeners and we have a waiting list and are exploring an option with the city to expand it onto a city lot

Fusion, I made my first trip last weekend and it was great. Other than our table (with a revolving door of local residents, everyone else was from outside of Springfield!

Debbie ..........no offense, but tax dollars do not pay for my road! Private road not part of the City maintenance or anything! Trying to get something done down here and was involved in a traffic count for a two hr window.....had 194 vehicles pass through my world in that two hours.....none lived here! That was 0700 to 0900 in the AM by the way...........all heading for Bay Meadows! By the way, my world pays for all road maintenance!

Guess you should have thought about that before buying there. Always do your due diligence right?

so you're saying that around 3 cars pass by every minute...must be real hard to get in and out of your driveway!

TUFSU1 Do you mean cars per hour? or passengers per hour? or cars per direction per hour? or passengers per direction per hour? or perhaps car miles? or passenger miles? Remember friend 30,000 PPDPH is the magic number!

Real glad my driveway is not on Bay Meadows Circle West..............those that are do have that problem! I know we had a traffic issue, did not realize it was that bad, 194 cars in two hours all going in the same direction and on a private road! Gee tufsu, I guess we need to hire a consultant to make head or tails out of that information ............8 cars from the other direction and 12 in one more, sat behind the three way intersection to count! cindi..........wrong! when I get really bored, I saddle up and get some coffee at Three Layers......that is if it's ok with you and the rest of the SPAR Board......you did say you were on the Board right?

The rose arbor and (soon to be I hope) baby ducks in Confederate Park.

I would add our fantastical chickens-but there are so few left...I want our chickens back, I want them back now!

I saw two chickens on Hubbard Street this week!

I like chickens, too, but I think it is the great neighbors - both the longtime and all of the new ones moving in - who make Springfield good....

I'm partial to the gridded streets and tree canopy, along with the other items mentioned. Downtown and the highway system is pretty easy to get to, no matter what time of day. All the individual things we have are connected by the grid, whether you walk, bike or drive.
They sell chicks at Standard Feed on Old Kings Rd., just west of the main post office. :o
