From what I could gather, Fruit Cove is not really a town or city, but a CDP (Census Designated Place), meaning it is a concentration of population which is identified by the United States Census Bureau for statistical purposes only. Kind of weird designation if you ask me, but that's what Fruit Cove is.  Very well to do people live in Fruit Cove; the average salary is around $115K/Year.  I wonder where most of those people work, Jacksonville/Duval or St. Augustine/St. John.

Yet another dagger for St. Johns County, uncontrollable growth at both ends of the county, north and south, but little in the middle.

HEY SPORTMOTOR!  I live just a few miles south of Fruit Cove, and have noted two things...

1. Business Week can't tell Fruit Cove from Jacksonville, testament to their stupid banking and insurance employment survey of about a year ago... FRUIT COVE FLORIDA #1 in job loss in the US banking and insurance industry!  How much can we trust these damned Yankee's if they can't read a map?

2. Contrary to popular belief, living in St. Johns... DEEP ST. JOHNS... The county appears ahead of the curve on all growth at the moment. We have acres of malls, out parcels, shopping centers, with utilities in, parking and pavements done, lighting, drainage, etc... and not a building in sight.

Better for us residents, they have used the CDD fee's wisely and we have brand new fire stations scattered every few miles throughout the county.  There are miles and miles of broad 4 lane highways, with more under construction that network throughout the populated areas. All of the new roads appear to be well lit, landscaped and have sidewalks. Highway 16 is being widened at this moment, Nocatee interchange, Shand's bridge approaches, and SR 13 at 16 on the way.

Wards Creek, Mill Creek, and many more named places have brand new schools.  Nice thing is, while I consider myself a misplaced urbanest, this is NOT Deltona! I'd give them an A+.

Another grade of excellence is the "SUNSHINE BUS COMPANY" our own "JTA".  Sunshine has made the front page of two industry publications in as many years for excellence. What started as a jitney service for the disabled and retiree's has blossomed into a full blown, county wide transit system. Sunshine interchanges with JTA at the Avenues Mall, and Ponte Vedra Stops.  http://www.sunshinebus.net/

Remember it is St. Johns that came up with the idea of a true Intermodal station on the Florida East Coast, at the St. Augustine Airport and US-1. I'm not sure but I think Scott Clem currently of JTA, was at the bottom of that.

Where'd they get their data from, zip codes? I went through all of them and the one in Texas is part of the City of Houston and others are a collection of towns or parts of other towns and cities.

Moved a couple of miles east of Fruit Cove back in 2000 although I had lived in the Mandarin/South Jacksonville area all my life.  Love the area, the schools, and have many friends living on the Fruit Cove side.  Still confused about the city of "St. Johns" or "Jacksonville" on my mail though. :) :)

:o cool!
I can technically put "Fruit Cove" on my mail or Jacksonville and will recieve either or lol That is confusing, but I love St. Johns, everything but the fresh faced cops that are quick on the gun draw.

I'd love to open something up near home but I am unsure as to what and where lol
