Title: Positive Media Station
Post by: cityimrov on January 29, 2010, 12:00:02 PM
I've always hear complaints about how the media is too negative.  If we had a station catering to positive news stories - what's actually working right with the City, State, Nation, and World - could it be a viable news station?

Example: "The Northside of Jacksonville is a very safe place compared to many different places in the world.  Although there was a bit of crime, that crime represents an extremely tiny portion of the population.  Thousands of people manage to still live there and come out alive.  A lot of the people there even work at the same place you work and they still manage to come to work."

cityimprov,

i actaully think it's VERY viable. many people don't the news b/c it can ne depresseing/cause anxiety.

a mostly "good news" news cast would likely have the opposite effect.

Extreme home makeover, CBN, CNN's heroes, and countless others have tapped into the good news & good will market.

Just think it's a matter of time.
