Al Letson, the nationally acclaimed Poet and Playwright, will be performing his award-winning one act play "Summer In Sanctuary", Saturday 7pm, to benefit "The Sanctuary".

For those who don't know, "The Sanctuary" is a local non-profit located on 8th Street in Springfield. It serves the underprivileged youth in the area by providing mentors, afterschool programs, summer-programs, food, materials, and educational services.

Al Letson moved to Jacksonville when he was 12 and developed his amazing talents here in Jacksonville. He has appeared on HBO's Def Poetry Jam and NPR, among other programs.

"Summer in Sanctuary" features only Al Letson, as he plays many various roles.

The play will be held in San Marco, at South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church (near San Marco Square) an tickets are $20.
