Three farmers markets have partnered with Mission Harvest, a local non-profit, to use the three market locations as collection points this weekend for food and medical supplies which will be airlifted to Haiti as soon as early next week:
1. Orange Park
Located at the Orange Park Mall on the SEARS parking lot facing Blanding Blvd.
Saturday from 10am to 2pm
2. Fleming Island
Located at the corner of US 17 Highway and Village Square Parkway.
Saturday from 10am to 2pm
3. Mandarin
Located outside the Whole Foods store in Mandarin, off San Jose Blvd.
Sunday from Noon to 4pm
These items are needed:
Needed items include:
· Dry food
· Bags of rice or beans
· Powdered milk
· Money
· Flashlights and batteries
· Disposable BBQ grills
· Sanitizing wipes
· Toiletries
· FOOD - MOST NEEDED, Canned, no box food. could be damaged in shipping
· canned meats or fish
· Over the counter medical supplies and first aid items
· Camping tents
· Portable generators
· Portable Lights
· Clothes, mostly for children
· Shoes, no high heels or boots please
· Underwear
