Sort of ironic after the article earlier this year that hammered Florida cities for being "unhappy". The 1st and 2nd place states were Louisiana and Hawaii respectively.

I think the top 3 are all good choices.
I think they are referring to states not specific cities.
But still, Louisiana?? Who woulda thunk?
not i.
I would... love LA, plan to move there if the economy ever comes around and the house can sell. I just have to convince my wife the beach doesn't have to be only 30 minutes away.
I love LA too ... except that Nature always seems to be conspiring against the people who live there. ;D
Don't you have to be blonde to live in California, or do they also welcome alien life forms? ;)
LA being Louisiana, not that L.A. I don't have any desire to move to Cali
oops, sorry - guess I have some blonde roots, myself....
Umm...well, i guess Florida is a happy place. South FL has a lot to do with it, there's no place like Miami! ;D
"At the other end of the scale, last in happiness -- is New York state."
I guess that is why you find so many of them down here.
Just how do you rate happy amongst all of us any way? This must be a real LOOSE criteria.
Yeah right! When!? Gloomiest State I would think.
"HU"
At this stage, true "best places" have learned to stay "off the map" and below the radar.
These features are actually sought after by many in the know looking for the 'best place".
Makes sense,Hawaii's got Dog the bounty hunter,New Orleans Brad Pitt and we got Tiger Woods.
