Is there another thread? I thought St. Phillips and Bethel Baptist were aprat of the tour?
They were. Not all churches are shown.
well isn't that special
Immaculate Conception is such a beautiful church.
The old Klutho FBC is, too...does FBC still use it for anything?
^^The church uses it for weddings and funerals. The high schoolers meet in there on Sunday mornings. The church is also planning a multi-million dollar renovation of the Hobson Auditorium (as it is called) as well.
What a wonderful tour and thanks for the photos. Our historic churches play a big role in attracting people to town to attend for services or to make them a part of living in town.
Outstanding pictures as usual. I sure wish I could have been there.
Slow day today and was browsing through this article.
The Church Tour was really cool. It was so cool actually that I went back and attended my first non-wedding mass at IC.
The only church I missed was FBC, which I had never been in. Unfortunately the dang Florida-Bama game was that night so we dipped over to Chicago Pizza to grab a seat.
I believe Ock was on our trolley. Interesting guy. Kind of reminded me of my uncle.
Anyway, like I said slow day today. :)
Go back and see the FBC sanctuary when you have a chance - beautifully designed by Klutho, although poorly "updated" over the years.
