Thought this was interesting:
Barnett Jewelers is giving away jewelry this holiday season. In a promotion dubbed Finders Keepers, the Downtown jeweler is leaving gift-wrapped boxes in a variety of locations, from schools and churches to restaurants and bookstores.
Inside each box, which is wrapped in the gold foil wrapping associated with the store, is jewelry ranging in value from $20 to $200, including bracelets, earrings, necklaces and a Seiko watch.
President Bill Barnett Sr. said it’s a way to give back to the community and to promote the store.
“We thought it would be a great way to spread some holiday cheer around the community and just make someone’s day a little better,†said Barnett in a news release. “Who doesn’t like getting a bright shiny box tied with a pretty bow?â€
Each box comes with a tag letting its discoverer know they can keep it, along with an entry form for the jeweler’s Christmas promotion, in which the top prize is a $500 gift certificate to Barnett.
Located in the Modis building Downtown, Barnett Jewelers has been doing business in Jacksonville since 1917.
