Title: Kudos to Riverside Wine Festival
Post by: lindab on November 22, 2009, 11:05:00 AM
Five Points was blocked off from traffic last night as maybe a thousand or more wine drinkers, merchants, food vendors and music lovers clogged the square. The food was terrific, the evening, rain free, and the music made you feel like dancing in the street. Congratulations to the sponsors and the local merchants and the happy-to-be there crowd for a successful event.

Sorry I missed it. I heard it was a great success. Kudos to Mr. Joudy (sp?) of Riverside Liquors for organizing this each year. Shows you don't have to be faux town like the "Town Center" to generate authentic cultural, social events.

David Joudi is part of a hard center of business people in 5 Points along with Tom & Gunnel Humphries, Mike Shad, Greg Boger, and the great ladies at Derby House who work hard to make things happen.

This was VERY well attended for a down economy and I was very happy to see Orsay, Pizza Palace, and Taverna doing so well, in addition to the local restaurants.
