At least seven people are dead and 20 wounded in a mass shooting Thursday at Fort Hood, Texas, and at least one suspect is believed to be holed up in a building and shooting at SWAT team members, NBC News and affiliate KCEN reported.
It was unknown whether the victims were all soldiers or civilians at Fort Hood, one of the largest military complexes in the world.
One gunman was reportedly in custody and another was on the loose, NBC News said. A third shooter may be involved, according to NBC News affiliate KCEN in Waco, which said the person was holed up in building 42006 on the base and had opened fire on SWAT team members. KCEN quoted a source as saying the shooter had a high-powered rifle.
I want to know if the shooters are U.S soldiers
CNN says "up to 9 peopel dead"
that's a wierd way of putting it.
Killing US Soldiers in the state of Texas. Might be the fastest trial and execution in US history.
CNN is now saying 11 dead, 31 wounded and that there are three suspects who are US Soldiers. What a tragic event.
1 gunman is dead
They need to let the soldiers storm that building with the gunmen held up and let them take care of things
12 dead 31 wounded
shooter was an officer and was a US Soldier(the only one they have confirmed)

Hmm. Malik Nadal Hasan.
Yesterday 5 brits were killed on base in afghanistan
today 12 were killed on base in Fort Hood.
Today is also Guy Fawkes Day.
Remember, remember the fifth of November,
The gunpowder treason and plot,
I know of no reason
Why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
I'd hate to think that had anything to do with it. I know a bunch of them belive in Guy Fawke's message but they wouldnt take it out on one another, this has to be some of their own issues but I wont doubt the media will spin it if they think about it
The shooter was an islamic convert...
This is just very sad. Now we will have people questioning islamic people again, here we go 911 all over again in a more focused manner. Very sad for all the families of those involved.

The shooter was an islamic convert...
According to the news this morning he has been a life long Muslim although he was born in this country to Jordanian parents. Educated in public schools in Virginia/Maryland and sent to medical school by the military.
Years ago I read that psychiatrists had the highest rate of suicide of any medical professionals. I think they were followed closely by dentists who were handling mercury at that time. Wonder if their rate of suicide has changed now that mercury is no longer used in fillings?
The guy yelled 'Allah Akbar' before shooting
What aggravates me most about this whole situation isn't that he's still getting paid, he hasn't been found guilty yet and when he is they'll recoup that money through liens and restitution. I'm not even upset that this has taken 4 years to come to trial. The most disappointing is that instead of charging him with Acts of Terrorism, or Violent Treason Resulting in Fatality, they are charging him with Workplace Violence. What does this do? It means that when found guilty, the victims and families of victims cannot receive any Survivor Benefits that they would had the US Govt charged him as a terrorist, which in my opinion he is. This reminds me of a quote by H.L. Mencken ~"Every decent man is ashamed of the government under which he lives."

Disclaimer: I did serve as a Medic in the US Army and was stationed with the 4th Infantry Division at Ft Hood, so that might skew my viewpoint.
^^^Yeah, I agree that he's a terrorist. It seems like America is so fixated on bombs being the only weapon of terror. Is a wacko who's hellbent on a holy war, killing numerous troops with small arms fire a terrorist? No way. Is killing a handful of people with a tea kettle at the Boston Marathon a terrorist act? Without question....
