Is there any really good blogs out there for our area?
Here is one that I came across: http://angryjaxvoters.blogspot.com/
It seems like a good political blog. Here's another neighborhoody one: http://www.urbanjacksonville.info/
Anymore?
You can check out http://jaxreader.com/ It is made up of feeds from many different Jacksonville blogs.
This is great! Thanks!!
Anymore?
Nice suggestion Lucas,
I was just about to post that...its a great catchall for Jacksonville blogs.
Since this is posted in Mandarin, I thought you were asking if there are any blogs focusing on Mandarin. I am aware of none. I skim JaxReader every day. What kind of blogs are you hoping to find?
Susan, I noticed the blog you posted about Angry Jax Voters http://angryjaxvoters.blogspot.com/ has an online petition in the upper right hand corner...pretty cool, I never seen an online petition on a blog before (maybe I am just naive to blogs). :-)
I am interested in all of the blogs...if there is one specific to Mandarin, even better.
I was born in Riverside but have lived in the same house in Mandarin all my life. I've been trying to learn more about the area, definitely trying to make time for some Harriet Beecher Stowe action.
No worries, Kellypope. I am new on MetroJacksonville also. I try to check as many blogs about the area as I can, especially the political ones (I am a bit of a political junkie). This whole ethics issue stuff has my blood boiling...so sorry if I rant in other postings...ha.
Good question, I read ijax.com, mostly for Jordon Logue, who is semi-retired from JEA. What a large number of stories he could tell us from his days there.
Some where up towards the top of the forum areas is a general poll where they had everyone post what part of town they were from.
It seems like there were about 5 to 8 Mandarin and NW St Johns folks at the most. The rest are scattered 1s and 2s with the highest concentration being Springfield and Riverside/Avondale. I think Springfield was 19 each.
That would indicate why most of the discussion is downtown and Springfield.
