I'm trying to find a seafood or fish market that has plenty of choices for fish, preferably already cleaned and all. My main goal is to find a place that carries Swordfish, because a Swordfish steak is incredible.
Anyone know or have any recommendations?
The Seafood market on San Jose in Lakeside/Miramar area is somewhere the chefs go in a pinch. Fishermans Dock would be a second choice (Mandarin or Orange Park). Call first and ask for cleaning.
Bonefish at the beach used to serve Swordfish.

Hence why I'm asking, me and my partner had that last weekend for dinner. OMFG was it good.
Unfortunately, it is only a seasonal item.
Reed - Check the Jax Beach Bonefish site, it said it was a special for today, Oct 29. Might be worth a phone call to them to verify.
There's a guy down the street from me who sells it out of his trunk? Interested...I could get his number. :D
I have had great luck at Safe Harbor Seafood in Mayport. That is if you plan on doing your own cooking.
Swordfish is not always available, but you can always find a lovely fresh catch that will satisfy.
Red Snapper is among my personal favorites.
The name escapes me, but its all the way down N. Main St. before the trout river bridge.
Trout River Seafood... Or is it Harrels??? I think maybe it was Harrells back in the day.
As mentioned above, the best place in town is Seafood Gourmet on San Juan. Didier (I think that's how it's spelled) is the owner and I think he might be one of the big culinary secrets in Jacksonville. He's worked in hotels and resorts all over the world and knows his stuff, he doesn't just sell you fish, he'll tell you how to cook it and whatever else you want to know. He makes some food there, the fish soup is *amazing*, plus he used to and I image still does make parchment dinners where he takes the fish and some veggies, seasons it and wraps in parchment so all you have to do is go home and put it in the oven.
Give it a try or at least visit. He can seem really intense and intimidating but it's just because he's really into what he does.

Yes. This place. Even if you aren’t close to Mayport, it’s worth a trip. You can actually order and eat there as well. Just keep in mind they’re closed on Sundays.

Do you mean Jackies?
Jackies is horrible.
They've recently changed to a Sports Bar theme, fyi.
The Fisherman's Dock truck is what is seen pulling up behind the finer culinary and sushi joints in town. They will tell you what is sushi grade with absolute conviction. Always ask about Jumbo or premium products not always mentioned or displayed. Either location is great but foodies in the biz say more high end fare is in Mandarin.
Didier Busnot, of the Seafood Gourmet on San Jose just past Miramar, is a transplant from Provence. He has cooked all over the world, but settled down out of the restaurant business so that he could have some family life. He is REALLY knowledgeable about seafood and how to cook it. Sometimes his choices are limited, because he will only sell the very best and freshest seafood available.
He is a no nonsense Provencal and his directness can sometimes be mistaken for impatience, which it is not. He speaks perfect, accent-less American English so you would never guess he is French born and educated.
Highly recommended!
Jackies has had its share of Mandatory closings by the health department. Frank's seafood, now called Beachside Seafood & Sandwich Company, is a fantastic place, 120 3rd Street in Jax Beach. The restaurant is upstairs, the fish market down, they had mullet fish dip last week. Was excellent.
