Yesterday I went to the Skyline restaurant on the 42nd floor of the BofA Tower. The views were awesome and the food was pretty good. It is open to the public, I would suggest that you give it a try.

Menu choices? Prices?
It's always fun to go into the high rise buildings and pretend you live in a city. ;)
What direction are the views?? I'd love to see the view North-Northeast from that building.
well, the menu changes everyday. They have soups, salads, sandwiches, desserts, cookies. Yesterday I had shrimp stir fry with an egg roll. They also had baked chicken with sweet potatoes and vegetables. My lunch cost $10 bucks with a drink. The views are facing the south and west, but you can walk around the entire floor and check out the views from all sides. Very cool! I took lots of pics, but dont know how to post them here.
^ You can send them to me if you'd like and I'll post them
Is it just open for lunch? Do they have a website?
Here is a link to the article that was in the Daily Record.

jason, should be posting a few pics I took with my cell phone.
Another typical 11-2 lunch only downtown place. Whooppee. We need tons more of those. I sent them an email to see if they plan on offering dinner service at any time. Imagine the views at night.
Here are FSUJax's images...

Did anyone read recently where Chew was cutting back on dinner to ONLY Thursday and Friday nights? Also, did anyone know that you cannot be served wine or beer there for lunch?
I haven't been to Chew for close to a year...but the last time I certainly had wine with lunch.
thanks for posting my pics Jason!
Isn't that the old Barnett Executive dining room?
It is the old Barnett Executive suites! very nice, but not what it used to be.
Some very nice views from up there. It's cool to be looking down on all of the surrounding towers.
Good views. You can really see the empty spaces downtown though. :(

Yes, I had lunch up there once. It was an "invitation only" thing back then. I got it for some project I did with Barnett Bank. Too bad Barnett is gone now. Having them HQ'd in Jax was a good thing for the city.
Interesting, I agree dinner would be great too!
Here's their menu:

Good food for the price of fast food! With ambience!
Reduced-fat ambiance. ;)
Restaurant Review: The Skyline is cafeteria dining with stellar view
Destination dining is something of a rarity in Jacksonville. Scenery here rarely makes an impression. Until now.
One has to be a person of means or work for a bigwig corporation to dine in the sky at the River Club in the Modis building. There, you can take in a view of downtown Jacksonville and the mighty St. Johns River.
But I've found a place where mere mortals are invited to dine that is so high that you can look down upon the Modis rooftop.
And this lunch is within most budgets.
The Skyline Dining and Conference Center is located on the 42nd floor of the Bank of America Building at 50 N. Laura St. It had been the fancy dining room back when the building was first constructed so many bank acquisitions ago.
How is it that such a view is offered to the masses? The food hardly matches the view.
The ride up the elevator makes one's ears pop. Upon exiting the elevator, the eye searches for the skyline but can't find it. Instead, it's greeted by food kiosks. The Skyline, you see, is operated by Aramark â€" the industrial food people. That said, as industrial cuisine goes, they do it better than most. But it can't be ignored that The Skyline is a cafeteria 42 floors above Bay Street.
Each week the offerings change, and the menu can be found at www.aramarkcafe.com/skyline. And the lunches, which can be had for between $6 and $12 depending on how many items you choose, are better than most chafing dish fare.
There's a variety of soups, salads and cold sandwiches. Last week's special offerings included Shrimp Bisque, Jerk Shrimp Ranch Salad, Baked Catfish, Shepherd's Pie, Roasted Zucchini with Feta and many more options.
Some friends and I went for lunch, and I found the Chilean Pork Stew filling, the meat tender and the flavors pleasing. Safe, but pleasing.
The Chicken Fajita seemed to have too much onion in everything, including the salsa and the guacamole. It overpowered every bite.
The Homestyle Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans was true to its name. The individual fist-size meatloaf servings tasted like a quality homemade meatloaf. The potatoes were a bit clumpy but not hard or cold. The freshly baked corn bread muffin was cakey and sweet. Throw in a 20-ounce bottle of soda, and a man-size lunch costs just $7.99.
Aramark is trying to make something happen in a great space. That said, it has a few difficulties. The hot sandwich bar can quickly become backed up. That line blocks the prepared sandwich and beverage counters. So there's some awkward breaking in line for those wanting to get to those counters.
The view is beyond spectacular. While having a simple lunch you can see all of San Marco, the newly constructed I-10/I-95 flyover from the Fuller Warren Bridge, and even the construction progress of the new county courthouse.
Be sure to take some time to take in this view. It is one of the best desserts I have had in a very long time.
