People who work in the Courthouse Annex were standing on the sidewalk across Bay Street watching Jacksonville Fire & Rescue arrive after the building was evacuated at 1:15 p.m. yesterday. Witnesses reported there was smoke on floors 4-8. State Rep. Mike Weinstein said when he went to the 8th floor to retrieve his briefcase before heading for the stairs, the floor was filled with smoke.
