Title: Baby found in a Trash Can
Post by: mtraininjax on October 20, 2009, 06:05:24 PM
Is it me or has the town of Jacksonville lost its identity and have we regressed to pure animals? This is just downright sad to see that people disregard human life like garbage.

you cannot generalize the actions of one stupid human to the whole city of Jacksonville.

Hey, even animals arnt that cruel to their offspring.
Its sad that people would do that tho, I just cant imagine what goes through the mind to justify such things.

Don't know about that, male cats would hunt down and eat the feral kittens in the neighborhood- we haven't quite gotten there yet.

Do you really think bad things like this only happen in Jacksonville?

Yes... they are.

QuoteDo you really think bad things like this only happen in Jacksonville?

Happens all over... and has happened for hundreds of years.

True... I am certainly not a student of the Bible but was not Moses supposedly abandoned in the river?

I think so. I also remember reading something about Solomon I won't repeat.

Our world is suffering from a severe sickness. Sadly, I think it will only get worse.

Both Biblical references above are out of context and incorrect.  Moses was placed in a river in a basket in order to escape death from the Pharoah.  Solomon did propose to kill a baby, only so that the baby's real mother would be discovered to settle a custody issue.

QuoteLeviticus 18:21:

And you shall not let any of your seed pass through l'Molech, neither shall you profane the name of your God: I am the Lord.

Leviticus 20:2-5:

Again, you shall say to the Sons of Israel: Whoever he be of the Sons of Israel or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that gives any of his seed l'Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones. And I will set my face against that man and will cut him off from among his people; because he has given of his seed l'Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name. And if the people of the land do at all hide their eyes from that man, when he gives of his seed l'Molech, and do not kill him, then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go astray after him, whoring l'Molech from among the people.

2 Kings 23:10 (on King Josiah's reform):

And he defiled the Tophet, which is in the valley of Ben-hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter pass through the fire l'Molech.

Jeremiah 32:35:

And they built the high places of the Ba‘al, which are in the valley of Ben-hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire l'Molech; which I did not command them, nor did it come into my mind that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

[edit] Jewish rabbinic commentary
The 12th century rabbi Rashi, commenting on Jeremiah 7:31 stated:

Tophet is Moloch, which was made of brass; and they heated him from his lower parts; and his hands being stretched out, and made hot, they put the child between his hands, and it was burnt; when it vehemently cried out; but the priests beat a drum, that the father might not hear the voice of his son, and his heart might not be moved.

A rabbinical tradition attributed to the Yalkout of Rabbi Simeon,[4] says that the idol was hollow and was divided into seven compartments, in one of which they put flour, in the second turtle-doves, in the third a ewe, in the fourth a ram, in the fifth a calf, in the sixth an ox, and in the seventh a child, which were all burned together by heating the statue inside.

How about placing your infant son or daughter on the white hot hands of Moloch, to be burned alive?  Certainly not the Christian or Jewish way, but there were/are those who practice this today.

Too bad Maury wasn't around in biblical times.

Thanks Captain!  I did qualify my previous remark with a disclaimer regarding biblical studies... :D

I never said that "only bad things happen in Jacksonville", but the level of tolerance and apathy on a board that is progressive, to me, is worrisome. Tolerating people dumping babies in a garbage can, tolerating abduction and murder of a young child, tolerating rape by juveniles, tolerating the chasing by naked men of female students with the intent to rape, and there is little to no debate over it......and the most important thing on the progressive news source, is when we can get money for a new high speed rail network?

Will the new rail system define what we want of our great city when animals and degenerates are running loose? A great new transportation system or a convention center won't matter a hill of beans, if the people are performing these irrational activities.

I for one do not think these issues are more prevalent today than they have been in the past. I personally feel that they are reported more so it appears that they happen more often.

Sorry friend, good wife Libby, was a crime victim advocate in Oklahoma. OSU being one of the only schools in the nation that teach such a degreed course. Different then "other" studies at the university, this one involved everyone from state police, to park rangers, Federal Agents, tiny town cops, swat teams, and the Coast Guard! EVERYONE! The OKC detectives holding phd's teach the core, and as such the students are part of OKC law enforcements team. It was like being on the inside, we went to all the cool hangouts of the "cops and robbers", saw the films, read the books, and had to type the entire freaking criminal codes of the state, and explain how a certain case would apply to each one. That was the most massive university project I have ever seen... Bottom line, the uniform crime statistics don't lie, and our "civilization" is going to hell on a rocket sled! All bet's are off as the perps get younger and younger and the crimes sicker then one could imagine.

We viewed a snuff film, involving a beautiful 2 or 3 year old boy, sleeping, then carefully molested...progressively violent until the perp starts carving him up. I was allowed to see it because each officer's family became a sort of giant support or family system. Doctor Johnson, Libby's professor, thought it a good idea for me to be with her, as he did with many other husbands, wives and or partners. We had to be prepped to even see the damn thing, issued barf bags, and I'm telling you the VA doesn't have enough Valium in the country to have put me to sleep for about the next month... and these guys were SELLING THIS SHIT until the cops and Postal Inspector caught up with them. I still become visibly shaken by it, even writing this response. These predators are the sickest, most vile things to crawl out of the scum of the abyss since Lucifer was booted out of Heaven. Any cops on here will tell you the same thing, it is getting worse at an ever accelerating rate.

OCKLAWAHA

I base my assumptions from the US DOJ crime statistics. I could be wrong because I haven't thoroughly researched it but from these statics http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/glance/viort.htm (http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/glance/viort.htm) and these statistics http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/glance/hmrt.htm (http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/glance/hmrt.htm) it appears that crime rates are falling.

And the mug shot - doesn't the remorse shown in that man's eyes just melt your heart.   I have my own opinions on what's wrong with our society, and I will keep them to myself, but what does everyone else think can fix it??
