QuoteA new insiderAdvantage poll in Florida finds that Gov. Charlie Crist's (R) statewide popularity has dipped below the halfway mark for the first time. His job approval is now 48% after months of having ratings in the 60- to 70-percent range.
Pollster Matt Towery said he "was somewhat taken aback" by the numbers.
Said Towery: "It has been conventional wisdom based on prior polling that Gov. Crist was somehow immune to the more tepid approval ratings we have seen for other incumbents in large states facing significant challenges."
Meanwhile, the St. Petersburg Times is hearing interesting "buzz" about an unreleased poll that may show Crist's lead shrinking in the Republican Florida U.S. Senate race.
Does Marco Rubio have much support in Jacksonville, I think he is a real danger to Crist's plans of going to D.C. myself.
Surprising to anyone how?
I'm surprised that his approval rating is that high.

His ratings have been higher, and slower to decline that just about any Governor in the US previously.
What has Crist done for me lately? People will vote with their wallets, he better pray that the economy comes back before his election.
QuoteA new DailyKos/Research 2000 poll in Florida shows Marco Rubio (R) surging in his race with Gov. Charlie Crist (R) for the Republican Senate nomination.
Crist now leads Rubio, 47% to 37%. In January, Crist led 57% to 11.
More bad news for Crist. His campaign is in almost textbook freefall at the moment.
I'm fine with this....Rubio will beat him in the Senate primary...and since he's ulta-conservative, it gives Kendrick Meek a good shot at winning.
And if things are bad enough in Tallahassee, Crist's failures will hurt McCollum and help Alex Sink.
Indeed, Have you guys been paying attention to what Rubio's been spouting? That guy is a Class-A nutjob. His supporters are even scarier!
QuoteDo you believe that Barack Obama was born in the United States of America, or not? (Asked only of GOP primary voters)
Yes 35
No 29
Not Sure 36
Was Obama born in US?

Crist 73 31 33
Rubio 16 54 45
YIKES!
(My source is the R2K poll by DKOS. Yes, It's a left-leaning site. But the poll is fair. SOURCE: http://www.dailykos.com/statepoll/2009/11/18/FL/417)
He's a republican, what did you expect? ;D
