QuoteLottery scratcher has a good weekend

Robert Myers must be itching because he sure is scratching

The 51-year-old Jacksonville man had quite a weekend.

He scratched off $500 winners Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but those were just pocket change. On Saturday he scratched off a $1 million winner in the $20 Billion Dollar Blockbuster game. He drove to Tallahassee Monday to become the 17th person to claim one of the 120 $1 million prizes the game offers.

Myers didn't have to ask directions. In 2003 he went to the Florida Lottery office to claim a $250,000 prize from a scratch-off ticket.

"Persistence pays off," Myers told the Lottery. He said he has no plans to stop scratching. "Oh yes, I will continue to play."

Myers chose the one-time, lump-sum payment of $650,000.

Bu forget the $1 million prizes. The game still has nine of 10 top pries of $10 million yet to be claimed.

That's pretty cool. Some of these $20+ scratch off pay pretty well. I tried my luck at a place outside Savannah with a $20 ticket and brought in several hundred dollars over a series of wins but Ga. scratchoffs always seem to win more for me.

I've done pretty well with scratch off's too. Ditto about what you said about the GA one's. I remember one time leaving to go to DC and stopping to get gas in GA and saying heck let me get a couple of scratch off's. I ended up winning about 1k on three different scratch off's.

I rarely play but won 10k on one of the 4th of July raffles they do every year. Ended up being 6.5k after taxes.
