Title: Main St info?
Post by: wiseguy8 on October 09, 2009, 02:44:40 PM
Hi, I am currrently working towards getting a M.S. in Sustainable Design and Construction in the Civil Engineering department at Stanford. In my infrastructure planning class I am doing a project on the effects of having versus not having streetcar. I wanted to use Main St in Jacksonville as an example. I chose this as an example because my parents live there so I know a few things about it. Anyways what I am looking for is a picture of Main St in Springfield before construction. I wanted to use this as a contrast to what it looks like now. When I was giving my 1st presentation someone asked "why not use bus, its cheaper?". I wanted to show them how after millions of dollars spent on new bus stops, divided medians etc, it will still not have the impact of a streetcar.
Thanks

Yeah I am using that one. I am thinking about a picture from the 80s or 90s though. I want one that is pre-construction.
