Title: Light the City Motorcycle ride
Post by: jbroadglide on October 02, 2009, 03:18:07 PM
Tonight (Friday 10/2) about 850 motorcycles will leave Adamec Harley Davidson on Baymeadows Rd and take a 45 mile trip around the city, probably on the Interstates, in the annual Light the City Charity Ride. The event is in honor of the Wounded Warrior Project. This will be a complete Police escorted ride so highways will be shut down for brief periods of time. I anticipate the bikes will stretch about 3 miles. Last few years the route has taken us over the Dames Point Bridge north, then a u-turn at Hecksher Dr and back across the bridge south. Quite a sight to see nothing but motorcycle headlights and tailights as far as the eye can see. Should be a great ride. If you see us and you have to delay your trip for a few minutes, please understand we are doing this for a great cause. Each rider pays $35 for the privelege. Some pay more than that for the privelge of riding up near the front.
