I was on Roosevelt this weekend and it looked like the new La Nap opened (or at least was a very large soft opening) over by Ham's. Thank goodness it's finally here, they been working on that place for a long time.
That took Forever!! I looked into the windows a few weeks ago and it had a pretty elaborate build out. I'm so excited. My sister and I have been waiting for this ever since they put the sign up in May.
Anyone have a phone number or email to confirm it open?
You can call the original (Hendricks Ave) and ask (904) 399-1768.
Finally! I've been waiting for a while now! Now lets hope for another good restaurant to go in the other vacant stores.
Oh theyre open alright... My buddy and I rode our motorcycles up there last Friday and it was packed, there were people pooring out the front door. We didn't even bother walking up, we quickly rode over to the one in San Marco!
Now - put one in the courtyard @ the airport - $$$.
Are there any other good Mexican restaurants in the Riverside area? I want something I can walk to in I want without crossing six lanes of traffic.
Fallen - Mossfire is very good with its mixture of Tex/Mex and local specialties. It is located on Margaret Street, next to O'Brothers (owned by the same people). So go enjoy some green salsa, then go next door for some green alligators and green beer.
And don't forget West Inn Cantina in Avondale.
Went to the new La Nop last night. No margarita happy hour but the beer special was good. The place was nice and clean, the staff seemed a little overwhelmed for the amount of people there, but the service was just as good as I'd ever expect from La Nop.
There was a wieeerrrdd mix of West-side/Ortega/Riverside people. It seemed like a cultural fist fight could break out at any moment.
I see that mixture of people at the La Nop on Beach/San Pablo as well.
I suppose good food/service just attracts all sorts, especially at those price points. I went to La Nop on roosevelt a few weeks ago and it was slammed. Food was still as tasty as ever. I have heard that the san marco location does more drink specials due to the fact that it attracts fewer patrons. At least, that's what I heard third-hand.

Our waiter told us that they do it at "every other location but this one". No clue why. No biggie, I'll still go back. The food was just as good as every other location and just as fast despite the crowd.
The La Nop on CR210 doesn't do HH either, I guess it's because they are already slammed without having to offer it. Plus a pitcher of Margarita only costs $12 and a giant beer 3.99, that's still cheaper than most places HH specials other places.
Thanks. I didn't think of Mossfire. I'll have to try that West Inn Cantina too.
Hola is very good as well (on the Corner of Main & Confederate in Springfield). Featuring real, live Mexicans!
I've gone there twice now, and each time it's been lackluster. Slow service, crappy food, and a kitchen that was visibly filthy.
I REALLY like La Nop, but I'll stick to driving to the better locations.
I have been there twice also, and I have only one complaint. Both times I have been were Sunday mornings recovering from a previous night, and they did not have any bloody marry mix. They had different reasons each time, but they say it is an item they stock. Other than that, we were seated quick, served well, and had no issues. Each time we had a group of around 10 people.
I guess it's all about the luck of the draw...
