Just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself.  Born and raised on the Westside, now on the Southside.  Glad I found this site...excellent history, well articulated essays on the core issues with this city.  Thanks!

The Westside will always be the best side  ;) I was born and raised around 103rd st, so it will always be special to me, even if the community in that area isn't what it used to be.  Still, I love it here on the Southside...it's a much better place for a college grad in his 20s to live and work.
