The Design Review Committee approved the designs of several downtown projects at its meeting on Thursday. The approvals included:

- Preliminary approval to a remodeling of the Winn-Dixie grocery store downtown. Winn-Dixie plans to update its storefront, repaint other sides of the building, and add landscaping and streetscaping to the store's parking lot.

- Conceptual approval to The Dalton Agency to redesign the front of its new headquarters on Monroe Street. Dalton plans to remove material added to the building in the 1980s and restore the building's original finishes. Dalton officials would also like to remove five of the 10 trees in front of the building and say that the remaining five trees provide enough of a canopy to shade the sidewalk.

- Final approval to an addition and remodeling of a building at the corner of Jefferson and Adams Streets. The building would hold offices for the Ronco Group among other tenants.

- Final approval to the landscape plans for the duPont Testamentary Trust building. The new headquarters of the trust would sit next to Fidelity National Financial's campus and include an elaborate, traditional garden.

- Final approval to Riverside Avenue Partners for the design of the parking garage for the new Everbank building. The developer had run into hot water with committee members after changing the design of their parking garage without committee approval. Riverside Avenue Partners added vertical features to the garage wall to better match the tower behind it, earning approval.

- Approval of a sign for the Trinity Rescue Mission.

The committee also deferred to the July meeting preliminary approval of a new building that would be built next to Fire Station No. 4 downtown and requested that the fire department return with more details of its proposal.
