Climate Ride to Focus the Nation

How far would you pedal for a new energy future? Join Brita Climate Ride, a fully supported, 5-day bike ride from New York City to Washington DC, September 26 â€" 30, 2009. It’s the ride of a lifetime through some of the East Coast's most beautiful countryside. Ride with more than two hundred cyclists for great food, world class biking, and the chance to meet and network with leaders in climate change, renewable energy and environmental causes. Register today and join this historic ride to Washington!

The Brita Climate Ride supports essential climate and bicycling advocacy projects at three beneficiary organizations: Focus the Nation, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, and Clean Air â€" Cool Planet.

Three great reasons to sign up:

Be a part of the Climate Ride Network: It's a fascinating group of renewable energy experts, climate activists, cyclists, recent college grads, and everyday folks. Notable riders include:  Denmark's Ambassador to the U.S.; Colin Beavan, a.k.a. No Impact Man who has a new movie at Sundance; Josh Dorfman, a.k.a. the Lazy Enviromentalist; Alison Gannett, U.S. World Champ Free Skier and Outside Magazine's 2008 Green All-Star; and more!

It’s a Climate Conference on Wheels: Hear informative talks each evening from expert speakers, and join the discussion on climate science, green technology, and solutions to the climate crisis.
The Time is Now: With a vote on the Senate climate bill expected in October and the United Nations COP15 Conference coming up in December, making your voice heard on the Hill couldn't be more timely and important.
If you want more information, go the website to look at videos and photos from the 2008 Ride, or email geraldine@climateride.org.

Then, tell your friends, and help get people signed up!

Don't cyclists contribute to global warming by living longer?

What is the carbon footprint of one of those fancy carbon fiber road bikes?

Why only 200 cyclists?

Is polyester a environmentally friendly fabric?

Just a few questions that came to mind... I've done a bit of cycling. :)

..........

Spandex, Coolmax and polyester are different entirely. Polyester would not be good for cycling. It is too hot.
