Post by: callahan4life on June 27, 2007, 11:29:49 PM
Can someone post the instructions for viewing the Council Member's emails?

Lunican-

That doesn't get you to City Council E-mails, though.  You have to call the Council Secretary for that.  I think her name is Cheryl Brown.

ok I have a question.... why are some of these public emails not updated for 10 days (Barton is showing as of 6/14) yet some others are current as of yesterday ? Do the physically have to hit a button to update the public or something ?

From Lunican's link above:

QuoteThe messages are now transfered to public record manually by each individual, so if you do not see recent email, send a friendly reminder for them to update their public record email.

so do they get to pick and choose what emails they update or does it take that temptation away from them ?

I've found her quite useless myself.  Actually, effective at giving me the runaround.  And at proving herself useless.  Yeah, it's harsh, but it is also true.

I believe all they have to do under the law is make them available to you for your review, which means you may have to go in there to view them.  Or maybe you could ask them for copies of a certain time period.  They do not have to give you access via the internet.

BTW, they recently started posting their meeting notices and minutes on their website.
